If anything happens to the car within sweden

If anything happens within Sweden, on weekdays you can call the rental office where you collected the car for further assistance. If the car is damaged outside the rental office’s opening hours but can still be driven, you can wait until the next weekday to contact them.

If something happens outside opening hours and the car cannot be driven, contact Volvo Assistans 020 55 55 66. We need the following information from you: An account of the course of events answering the questions when, where and how. Photographs of the damage from different angles.

You must report any damage within 30 days of the incident. A police report must always be filed for parking damage, thefts/break-ins, wildlife collisions and vandalism. This is most easily done at www.polisen.se

In case of single-vehicle accident

In case of wildlife collision

In an emergency, call the emergency services on 112 and put out the warning triangle. By law, accidents involving wildlife must be reported to the police. Mark the site of the accident in case an injured animal needs to be found.

In case of collision with another vehicle

In an emergency, call the emergency services on 112 and put out the warning triangle. Fill in the claim form together with the other party. You can find the form in this binder. Make no hasty admissions. Photograph the site of the accident and the damage from different angles before the cars are moved. Get the names and addresses of witnesses. Both parties must sign the claim form.

In case of theft, break-in or vandalism

In the case of theft or break-in, you must always report the incident to the police. Claims for stolen private property are to be made to your insurance company.

In case of parking damage caused by unknown vehicle

A police report must be filed. In order for the damage to be accepted as parking damage with a reduced excess, the following must be fulfilled: A witness who saw the incident. A witness who saw that the car was undamaged when you parked it but damaged when you collected it.
